Playoffs clinched! [DCU 2 - RSL 1]
D.C. United became the first team in MLS to clinch a playoff spot with a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake tonight. Gomito scored the winner and Luciano notched his 19th goal. The man is on a tear. And so is the team at 8-0-1 over their last nine games. Photos by Rafael Suanes at the Flickr account.
The guys have Thursday-Sunday off - a well deserved break after 14 games the last six weeks. After the break, the team has a full week of training, before heading to Chicago for a Sunday matchup. With a playoff spot now clinched, the boys can work on hunting down the Supporters’ Shield.

Did anyone else get a warm fuzzy feeling seeing all the love Esky got after the game? From the fans and DCU players. So how about it front office, when are you bringing the Headgear back?

A “thrilling” game according to my eight year old who is a die hard “Fred” fan. Last night was an example of how to “set the pace of the game” with Fred starting along with Emilio, Gomez, Olsen and Jaime if he’s available. That combination is simply lethal! Bobby - great D! Wow, THAT is how we play futbol. I mean there were some scary spots in the 1st half, and a few dangerous counter attacks. But all in all I am so relaxed to see our Eagles back in such solid form. The Supporter Shield is ours and so is that cup.

When was the last time Luciano Emilio DIDN’T score? DOn’t get me wrong, he’s not the only good player on D.C. United, but, still, maybe show a little mor variety. Good job getting into the playoffs. WIN MLS CUP 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!
