Bobby Boswell (BobbyBoswell.com)

So, I receive a lot of emails asking about my plans are for the off-season and also wondering what I am up to these days. To be honest, as of right now, I am a “do” boy. What is that you ask? Well, I hear a lot of “Bobby, do this” and “Bobby, do that.” Now my days consist of taking care of Marc Burch after he had a plica removed from his knee. What is a plica you ask? I have no idea. But it does require him to be on crutches and some pain medication that doesn’t allow him to operate heavy machinery. Or to get up to get water. Or to carry heavy equipment used in the rehabilitation process.
We decided that we also wanted to go visit #14, who had not one, but two ankles worked on recently. So, yesterday I found myself taking care of two grown men. We watched some movies, I showed them some new online videos that I (and only I) found amusing, and we played a group game of Trivial Pursuit in which we discovered that we all need more sleep. Burch kept calling #14 ‘Lieutenant Dan’ because Ben’s brother Jeremy, his wife Megan, and I had to pick him up and put him in a wheelchair if he wanted to move around. Burch and I eventually left after wearing out our welcome.
Today is much of the same although Burch is becoming more mobile. Devon is responsible for Ben’s entertainment today. Rumor has it he is taking some fried rice from our favorite Vietnamese place over to him. My teammates are my extended family, and therefore we take care of each other.
As I finish up this post, Burch literally just turned to me and said, “If I was a penguin and I had to walk down a hill, I would just slide…wouldn’t you?’ Maybe the drugs are working!! Take care… you know I will be.

I just got knee surgery on my ACL and meniscus 2 months ago, and I’ll have to say, it was the weirdest experience of my life. The medicines will work!! and my anesthetics didn’t really wear off until the 3rd day.
You’re a good friend/teammate, Bobby. I remember the worst part was having people help me get out of bed and go to the bathroom (even in the middle of the night). if that’s your job, I commend you.

Is it really appropriate to put a smiley face over #14? If so, then his drugs are working, too.

So I was wondering if one of those vidoes that only you found funny was “my new haircut”?
If not, I suggest you go youtube that.

Two surgeries on the same knee four years apart, first for my ACL, second was a possible torn meniscus.
That definitely was the worst part about my surgeries not being able to go to bathroom with out help. The meds definitely worked, a little to well for me. I was out of it for 3 days after my surgery.

I had the same surgery about five years ago, and plica was found at that time. It was explained to me as something that is formed while you are still a fetus, and after birth it is gone. It is still found in some, although it is very rare, and found in less that two percent of the population. Most likely harmless they removed it to be sure that that was not causing any of the pain or stiffness in my knee.
Haha… the penguin thing was cute.
