YEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWW!

Sorry, I just felt like doing that… I can’t help but to think of saying that every time I get on this ridiculous site and see the picture of Bobby in Houston with his cowboy hat.

Anyways, if you haven’t figured it out yet, this isn’t Bobby. It’s Alecko, aka Esky, aka Mr. I Get Traded a Lot. Basically Bobby has allowed me – well OK he pretty much asked me – to take over his site for a day and write a little something. I asked him what he wanted me to write about and he said, “I don’t know, something funny. People want to hear from you. Maybe talk about some funny stuff about getting traded. Talk about any advice you might have for me and maybe who you miss or don’t miss from the teams you got traded from.” My response, “I’m on it…”

Well first off, let me start off by saying there is absolutely nothing cool about being traded. There is no way you can go up to someone and be like “Yea, I got traded” and look cool. Trust me. No matter what the reason for a trade, whether you wanted it or didn’t want it or if it was a great situation or terrible situation, whatever the case may be, there is always that empty feeling inside. When you are on a team, they become your family. So, the best way I can describe being traded is for you to imagine telling your family you’re leaving and going to a new family and hoping things work out better. Not easy. Sometimes it works out great and it’s for the best, and sometimes you’re like “oh wow, send me to a new family please because this family sucks…”

So, I guess I should start off by saying, Bobby I wish you nothing but the best with your new team out in Houston. He is going to the defending champions so I definitely don’t feel sorry for him, and judging by his cowboy hat I think he will fit right in. But, there are a few things young Bobby is going to have to get used to. It’s just always tough going to a new place because things are done differently. It takes time to understand that many of your old routines might have to change. Where you train, what time you train, how you train, the weather, the people, the traffic, the prices, the food. I could go on and on about all the differences you experience as a result of relocation, but the most important is different teammates! So with that said, I want to talk a bit about some of the teammates I miss and don’t miss from the different teams I’ve been on.

Players I miss:
#1 Bobby Boswell – those own goals always brought a smile to my face.
#2 Ben Olsen – my fellow UVA dropout, at least I know I will graduate before you do.
#3 Josh Gros – how can you not love a guy who purposely breaks his wrist every year just so he can hit people with his cast?
#4 Dema Kovalenko - I miss Dema like Dema misses two-foot tackling someone after doing 800 sit-ups.
#5 Danny Dichio – he tried biting someone in that Chicago game… and he has an English accent! Cheers lad, you’re mayjah!
#6 Ronnie O’Brien – best prankster ever, to the point where he tore his MCL and I was like “suuuuuure dude, good one…” but, it was actually torn, oops.
#7 Maurice Edu – my brother from another mother, #1 picks stick together.
#8 Freddy Adu – I miss this kid’s laugh… (See Below)
#9 Eddie Pope – yea, he is quiet… until you ask him to do some Dave Chappelle jokes!
#10 Nick (and Jacqui) Rimando – they let me live in their basement, taught me how to make guacamole, and are naming their baby after me! Ok, I just made up the last part

Players I Don’t Miss (I actually love these guys):
#1 Ben Olsen – don’t get me wrong I love Benny, but the fact that he flaunts his chest hair is just disturbing.
#2 Christian Gomez – cuz he is so good at soccer that I wish I could be like him.
#3 Hristo Stoichkov – he either thought my name was “Stupid” or he just enjoyed saying “Hey Stupid…” when speaking to me.
#4 Troy Perkins – he saved my PK – that earns you a spot.
#5 Freddy Adu – he laughs too much.

Alright well that just about wraps it up for me. In case some of you don’t know, I was a “free agent” at the end of this past season and have been weighing my options during this off-season. And just recently I reached an agreement to move to LA and play for Chivas USA this season, so I’m very excited about that. Thank you to all the fans for your continuous support and thanks Bobby for letting me chime in with my two cents. I wish you all a Happy 2008, and as Hristo would say, “Goodbye Stupid!”

ROTFLMAO!!!

Good luck to you at Chivas, except when playing against Bobby, of course. I hope you can stay healthy, because we know what you bring to the table when you’re able. So, enjoy your new family, and keep working on that degree.

Just think of the MLS jersey collection one could have if they always bought an Eskandarian replica jersey! Look forward to seeing lots of left footed bombs that make Beckham and Galaxy fans cry.
